Recently we worked in collaboration with LittlePaperPlanes.com and KQED to produce a pilot for the show "Working Title". This is the first of an ongoing series about local alternative entrepreneurial activity in the Bay Area.  

“Apotheosis is a meditation on the transcendent power of movement explored dynamically in film featuring fire, aerial, and hoop dance.”

Apotheosis, meaning "elevation to divinity" is first a project about movement in space and interaction with each circus apparatus as a means to express feeling. The choreography is for both the dancer and the camera. We will create dynamic perspectives and coordinated action between the subject and the lens through wich she connects with her audience. Taking the viewer out of the passive viewpoint of spectator, we will actively investigate relationships between the performer and those watching through the dance of the camera, emphasizing interaction. Finally this film is about transcendence achieved through the meditative act of dance and art, a form of apotheosis available to each of us. The narrative of this dance begins with an isolated woman entrapped by hoops, dancing with and against what encages her. Finally, breaking away from them, she discovers the aerial silks that she uses to climb from the dark space she inhabits. As she reaches the top, having risen into the sky, her silks seemingly supported by the sun, she fuses into the flames, spinning and fueling this fire herself, in unity with it.

Apotheosis is ready for production, the only thing in the way? Lack of funds! But have no fear! We have launched a Kickstarter project to fund the unfinished elements of the project.
